The
South Dakota Bankers Association (SDBA) is the professional
and trade association for South Dakota's financial services
industry. Established in 1884, the SDBA has helped provide the
opportunity for banks to be the preeminent providers of
financial services in our state. Through the SDBA,
hundreds of South Dakota bankers volunteer each year to serve
on SDBA boards, committees and task forces to
educate South Dakota's consumers and promote financial
literacy. |

The
Association provides continuing education, develops and
monitors state and federal legislative agendas, disseminates
information on all facets of the financial services industry,
and promotes the public image of financial institutions, among
other activities. To carry out these efforts, the Pierre-based SDBA
employs seven full-time staff
members and one part-time employee.
As the
primary trade association for commercial banks in South
Dakota, the SDBA serves as an advocate, promoting and
enhancing the profitability, leadership and image of South
Dakota's banks. To achieve this goal, SDBA activities
encompass a range of services:
-
